When someone finally cracks the code for the time space continuum and gets around to inventing teleportation, I’ve got a killer idea for the first application of teleportation devices, traffic intersections.

Think about it, one of the most aggravating things about driving is hitting red lights and stop signs. If we build a teleportation device into intersections for one direction of traffic — either north/south or east/west on the road — we wouldn’t need stop signs and traffic lights.

Anyone driving in any direction would be covered. Northbound/southbound traffic would teleport across the intersection and eastbound/westbound traffic would drive through the intersection. No more stopping. Unless you’re one of those crazy people that decides they want to turn at an intersection. In that case you’re just screwed.

Lately I’ve been noticing any annoying trend. Companies like Netflix and Disney are forming this habit of constantly marketing services to already paying customers. The method Netflix is using being a little more wasteful than what Disney is doing, with neither less annoying than the other. And frankly, I find both methods a great waste of time and resources.Diet loss phentermine pill weight

Dear Netflix Direct Marketing Dept.,

Let me preface this by letting you know that I’m not particularly a fan of direct marketing. I understand it works for a lot of people but I’m not usually one of those people. Alright, moving on. Read the rest of this entry »

The HD dilemma

February 21st, 2008

I was an early adopter, relatively speaking. Everything was looking good, then I got burned. Big time. Even though I should have known better, I jumped on the HD-DVD bandwagon just a little too soon. Choosing HD-DVD isn’t something I regret, too much, because it was such a great deal at the time — usually being the key to winning these types of battles. Now that all is basically said and done, with Toshiba dropping HD-DVD production, I’m left with a hard choice, what do I do for my HD needs? Read the rest of this entry »

My new toy and a call for help.

February 20th, 2008

For the past few weeks I’ve been very good about how I’m spending my money. I haven’t made any superfluous purchases of neat-o gadgets or doodads. This is a good thing right?

Well, as it turns out it’s a great thing during those periods when I don’t buy anything I don’t need. Generally it tends to go bad after a month or so though — hence the purpose of this post. My gadget lust has been building up for quite a while now and something had to give. Disregarding all logic and common sense, I recklessly went to Best Buy last weekend and picked up a sweet new toy for myself. Here it is in all it’s glowing glory. Read the rest of this entry »
