The time has finally come, I need to get my hair cut, badly. Normally I’ll go, at most, four months or so between visits to my stylist but right now I’m well over that milestone.

Over the past couple years, while living in Calgary, I came to know a fantastic stylist by the name of Jenny. When I met her she had bright pink hair that she was spiking up top and growing a mullet out the back. This alone was the sole reason I went to her. During my time with Jenny I’ve always told her to do whatever she wanted with my hair and she has.

Unfortunately I’m in Pennsylvania now and I have to find someone locally to take over for Jenny. I’m going to start with my search with the same company that she worked for, Aveda, and hopefully I can find someone with enough guts to do what they want and not make me look stupid or run-of-the-mill at the same time.

Me, currently. Told you it was a mop top

Because of my extended absence from any type of hairstylist or salon my mangled mop top is getting quite unruly. While I search for my new stylist I’m curious to hear what style of do I should go for. Colour may be an option, since you can obviously tell I have no problems with it, but I think I’m just going to go for a cut the first time.

What do you think I should do? And before you answer Colin, Walmart is out of the question. ;^)

ahhahaha. I’m glad I read the last sentence.

Dude, I would totally do the third one in your photo-list again. Just my opinion. Either that, or Walmart. Hah!

Are you talking about the style or colours? I’m a little anxious to see what will happen when I finally make it to the stylist, which I should probably call sometime this week.

you know, bald is the new [hip word here]

  4. Mike Says:

Done the bald thing twice before. I’ve actually been tempted to do it myself again but don’t think I’m going to go through with it. Maybe in the summer when it warms up.

  5. Jess Says:

DO NOT GO BALD!!!!!!!!!! Just cause you haven’t found a new stylist doesn’t mean you have to take drastic measures.

  6. Mike Says:

Like I told Josue, I’m not going to go bald, at least not until the summer ;^)

I like the second one the best. Colour (as you Canadians say it) and Style.

Seems that everyone is choosing one of the photos I’ve shown but that’s not what I’m limiting the choices to. Feel free to suggest something completely different. I just wanted to show everyone the progression of my styles.

Thanks Eliza. I remember you mentioning that you really liked that one when I showed you that picture.

    Keep the suggestions coming.

    I dunno maybe a mohawk?

  10. Chris Coleman Says:

Dude, if you don’t mind going four months between cuts, why not just make the trip to New York and get it done here? Keep in mind, you won’t pay Alberta or even Pennsylvania prices…

Marko: Full on mohawk or one of those oh-so-trendy fauxhawks all the kids seem to be sporting these days? ;^)

Chris: Show me how to get to a reputable Aveda salon and I just might, depending on how things go with the local one.
