Funny road signs
October 23rd, 2006
So, I was driving to Colin’s house this morning and it just so happens that I pass a school on the way. Schools are notorious for having their branded signs and they’re generally used for advertising games, parent teacher days, general meetings, etc. This morning was a little different.
Half in a daze, half paying attention to the road, I drove past the Carbondale High School and took a quick glance at the sign. Due to the early hour and my foggy brain I wasn’t quite sure I read the sign correctly so I took a second look. As it turns out, my first reading was correct, the sign did in fact say “Cow Pie Fundraiser”.
Maybe it’s because I’m not from the area but my first thought of how this type of thing would go down consisted of high school kids going door to door asking for any empty and unused cow pies — ala the numerous bottle drives we’ve all done in our youth.
This is probably not how the actual event works but it definitely but a nice big smile on my face. No matter what anyone says to me at this point can take that Monday morning smile away from me and that’s the best way to start a work week in my opinion.
How did your week start out? What was the first thing that made you smile this morning?

I thought I’d have a comment, but I don’t. Perhaps we should go down to the fundraiser and see what it is all about.

I’d be down with that. Gotta find out what this thing is all about.

I believe it’s “Cow Plop Fundraiser.” Even better! Maybe has something to do with Donkey Basketball?

haha!
We had a sign as we drove into our neighborhood that said, “Slow Children at Play” I was like, “WHAT!? If I had a child, I’d be very offended!” LOL
It took them a few years to finally fix it. LOL
