Today’s moment of awesomeness and stupidity
November 18th, 2006
I experienced, in two minutes, both a moment of awesomeness and a moment of stupidity.
First the awesomeness. While driving to Walmart, I was passed by a elderly woman, likely in her 60’s, in a Sunfire. Pass is actually a weak explanation, she flew by me.
The stupidity was at the next set of lights. While stopped at the red light a red Dodge truck, in on-coming traffic, was waiting to turn. When both his and my light changed to green at the same time he decided it was a good idea for him to go first, so he did.
The unfortunate thing is that I’ve seen other drivers here do the same. Is stupidity contaigious or do people really forget that much about driving?

No. It is because people think if they “take off” they will beat the pack. Many people taking left turns want to get across the traffic before they have to wait until all of the cars go.
Is it correct? No. Is it legal? No. But it is American morons that think they need to be somewhere 11 seconds faster - at it’s best.

This is what I don’t understand, what’s another five minutes people?! Take those minutes to relax a little, it might actually make your day better and you might prevent an accident.
