How much is too much?

February 1st, 2006

I’m relatively new to this whole blogging game but after almost a year of working at it I’m making a little headway. I like to compare my experience with blogging to my experience with tattoo’s – they are addictive.

After setting up my first blog I thought it was great. Writing about topics I enjoyed and keeping a pretty regular schedule. Shortly after I became part of The Über Geeks, this blog was next, and now I’m working on a new blog/website to be named at a later date (hint hint – albeit an obscure one ;^).

With my regular work load as a freelance designer and developer it is definitely becoming a challenge to keep all these websites going. Don’t get me wrong, it is a fun challenge but a challenge nonetheless. So with all of my regular work load, and four blogs I think I may be tapped out – at least if I want to retain any sort of quality, if that’s what you consider this to be.

My question to you, oh faithful reader, is how much is too much for you to handle? I can understand how professional writer’s could maintain or contribute to much more than I but that’s their business. If you’re a professional writer how many blogs can you maintain for fun versus how many for profit?

Its only easy if you love it. If it becomes a chore, start trimming the fat.
