The HD dilemma

I was an early adopter, relatively speaking. Everything was looking good, then I got burned. Big time. Even though I should have known better, I jumped on the HD-DVD bandwagon just a little too soon. Choosing HD-DVD isn’t something I regret, too much, because it was such a great deal at the time — usually being the key to winning these types of battles. Now that all is basically said and done, with Toshiba dropping HD-DVD production, I’m left with a hard choice, what do I do for my HD needs? Read the rest of this entry »

My new toy and a call for help.

For the past few weeks I’ve been very good about how I’m spending my money. I haven’t made any superfluous purchases of neat-o gadgets or doodads. This is a good thing right?

Well, as it turns out it’s a great thing during those periods when I don’t buy anything I don’t need. Generally it tends to go bad after a month or so though — hence the purpose of this post. My gadget lust has been building up for quite a while now and something had to give. Disregarding all logic and common sense, I recklessly went to Best Buy last weekend and picked up a sweet new toy for myself. Here it is in all it’s glowing glory. Read the rest of this entry »

After not working out for several months I forgot how hard it is. It could go without saying but I’m going to say it anyway, the first week absolutely kicked my ass! The sensation of feeling muscles I forgot I have took some getting used to, but I’m starting to like it.

Now that the actual working out part is getting a little easier — the weight isn’t easy, just the decision to go to the gym is — the big hurdle seems to be waking up on time. With an hour long commute to work, and my preference of working out in the morning, it’s important for me to get up early and give myself enough time to workout, shower, eat, and get to work. Given all that my goal is to get up around 6:15am. After two weeks of setting the alarm for that time it’s still a challenge every day. This is something I need to work on.
