Migrating to the new (dv) 3.0 from (mt)

The time has come when all good things get replaced by better ones, this just so happens to be it for my hosting situation. While others have had several issues with media temple, more specifically the (gs) server, I’m going to be migrating all my sites to their new (dv) 3.0 plan starting today.
There were some minor glitches already—billing—but they’re being ironed out as I write this. So, for the next couple days this site, the root site (screenflicker.com), my Calgary Roughneck fan site and a few others may be interrupted briefly. Rest assured once the migration is complete everything should work exactly as it does now, possibly just a little bit faster (and maybe with a few more goodies down the line).
Funny IM Conversations: Whistling

This conversation was started and based solely on the fact that I set my IM status message as “Yay, it’s me!” How the conversation started isn’t really surprising since that status message tends to illicit a response from this person but I truly enjoyed how this particular one. Enjoy.

Helping TextMate find MySQL

A short while ago I started looking into the integration between TextMate, simply the best Mac text editor in my opinion, and MySQL. TextMate has many built-in functions that will allow you to run MySQL queries right from the TextMate window, saving you from having to switch between either the Terminal or local install of phpMyAdmin and TextMate (I’ll use TM from here on). My problem was that each time I tried to run a query from TM, it couldn’t find my install of MySQL. Here’s how I solved the problem.
