Progress with the apartment
October 26th, 2006
Well, there is some great progress being made on the apartment this week. The previous tenants have been out for about a week and whatever stuff they have left in the apartment will be put on the porch at the end of the day (if they don’t pick it up).
Last night I went down and helped the landlords rip up the nasty, old carpet. To our surprise there were hardwood floors under the carpet. Unfortunately, due to the utter lack of care and attention to cleanliness by the previous tenants, it would be much more work to fix the floors than to jst have new carpet installed. New MacBook Pro released, finally
October 24th, 2006
Well kids, it’s finally happened. Apple released the new MacBook Pro and hot damn do I want one. I’ve been waiting for this update for about 3 months now, as I’m sure all Mac fanboys and girls have, and have saved about half of the money needed to get one.
Right now I’m plugging away on a 4 year old machine and while it’s still a viable workstation it’s slow. If any kind individuals out there are so inclined — or I trigger a guilt response and y’all just feel bad for me — why not donate a couple bucks using the button below. Of course, you could also just click on a bunch of ads ;^) over at TUG.n or gonecksgo.com — both of which are other sites I run.
Edit: added smilie to clicking on ads comment because google really doesn’t approve of that policy, so only click on ads if they are pertenant to you.

The Diet: Week 20 weigh in
October 17th, 2006
After a taking the last couple weeks off I’m back at the whole keeping-up-with-the-diet thing. This weigh in will be pretty poor considering my previous progress since I’ve been very bad at keeping up with any type of exercise.
For the last couple weeks I haven’t played any basketball and the only physical activity I have done is helping Colin and Eliza move. While I’ve had the opportunity to actually do more exercise I haven’t taken the initiative to follow through and I realize it’s my own fault. Hopefully my public admission of this will make me work harder. Read the rest of this entry »
Winter is coming
October 13th, 2006
The unfortunate side effect of living in areas that have definite winters and seasons is that eventually, whether I like it or not, winter does come. To my dismay, it seems that it is finally becoming that time of the year around here.
There’s been no actual snowfall yet but this morning when I woke up and stepped outside to get in my car I was slapped in the face with my own solidified breath as it exited my mouth. Guess it’s time to go shopping for some warmer clothes again. Oh yeah, I snapped this pic of some frost on the side of my car before I hopped in and cranked up the heat.
