I find myself recently asking a lot of questions. Today’s question was prompted by — of all things — this particular Flickr photo. Just reading the comment Chris made started the synapses firing.

The question? Why is it that when a Democrat President is elected to office there is at least an illusion of peace in the United States? A follow up question, and more specifically the original question I wanted to ask, why then does that President have to deal with being impeached for “sexual conduct” with an intern? It boggles my mind that one President can go through all that while he is seemingly doing quite well for the American people.

Karma

February 16th, 2006

Karma, whether you like it or not, can be the best thing for you or it can be a mean bitch. The upside to anyone experiencing a touch of negative karma is that friends are the perfect cure. Whether you want to hear it or not. Good friends help in even the darkest of times — and hopefully set you straight so you can experience more of the good karma.

There are things being said and there are words being tossed back and forth. Some words are true, some are not.

All I’ve got to say is that although I’ve yet to meet Paul Scrivens we have had a few witty exchanges in various blog comments. It’s all in good fun and I enjoy doing it.

Everything I’ve heard about Paul tells me that he is a stand up guy. You cover his back and he’ll cover yours. Here’s to you Paul. Everything comes and goes and you’re better off for taking the high road.

Note: This mushy post was inspired by todays events across the blogosphere — have we found a new word for that yet — and this post by Colin.

This sums it up quite well currently down but link will be restored when it’s back up again It’s back online again

Blatant self-promotion time

February 13th, 2006

It’s been under wraps for the last month but I am happy to announce that Go! ‘Necks! Go!, the unofficial fan site for the Calgary Roughnecks lacrosse team, is live!

Lacrosse has become my favorite sport to watch over the last couple years — partly due to the fact that I’m not rich enough to fly down to Florida or Texas and catch the NCAA football games I love so much.

Not to take anything away from lacrosse though. It is our national sport in Canada, even though hockey is definitely more popular — for now. Since I started watching lacrosse, the Calgary Roughnecks have managed to go from an expansion team to league champions in only 5 years. Not only were they the champions in 2004 but they also have numerous Western Division titles during those 5 years as well. Read the rest of this entry »

Last Arrested Development?

February 10th, 2006

The time has finally come, maybe. This is possibly the last night to watch any new episodes of the highly enjoyable TV show Arrested Development. Fox has pulled a Family Guy on this fantastic show and I’m sad to see it go.

Hopefully the rumors of ABC or Showtime picking up the series are true. If that’s the case I will make a video of myself dancing a jig and consider posting it here for all to enjoy—well, enjoy would be one way to put it, laugh would probably be better.

So, tell all your family and friends to turn on their TVs and catch the [final] 2 hours of Arrested Development tonight.
