First Year University Students Make Me Laugh
September 14th, 2005
I have a weird sense of humour. I’m also a people watcher. Going to the mall for me is a completely different experience than most of the typical mall denizens. They are typically there to shop and chat it up with their little cliques, whereas I go to watch these little cliques and make fun of them.
Yes, that does sound mean spirited but it’s not meant to be. I don’t degrade them or belittle them. I’m not out to cause maliciuos acts against them. What I do like to do is try to predict what I think they’ll do next or even just take a trip down memory lane and compare what I’m sure they’re thinking to the wisdom I now have — not that I claim to have much of that on a good day mind you. Power Outage and Downtime
September 13th, 2005
What a fun little ride that was yesterday. I’d be tempted to say it was a bit of a hoot. Talk about your slight power outages. Sheesh. Can you imagine? LA, powerless for 2+ hours. The plus side, no looting — at least I haven’t heard of any at this point in time.
The downside? A majority of hosting providers are located in LA and this could be considered a major disruption in service. It was funny for me though. I was so focused on finding a solution to an interesting little bit of code that I didn’t even notice that I stopped receiving email for about 2 hours. Yes, I pretty much missed the power outage.
Of course when I finally realized I wasn’t getting my email the proverbial dookie hit the fan. It’s a little strange to me though, the power was only out for about 2 hours but I was still only able to get my email and website back online at about 8pm mountain time. Oh well, I guess that’s why I pay those sys admins at (mt).
Crappy Video from iChat
September 10th, 2005
Now, I’m not saying it was anyones fault, especially Peter D. Peter has kickin’ bandwidth and a brand new iMac G5. But, when I was invited to a video chat with Peter and Colin we all got some crappy video during the entire conversation.

After we looked at each others fuzzy faces we tried changing who hosted the chat and the picture seemed to clear up quite a bit. A short while later I was still getting some artifacts from quick movement so I’m not really sure what’s up with that.
Anyone else had anything like this happen?
Yay, My First Link
September 10th, 2005
I don’t know how long it’s generally suppose to take for people to find your site let alone give you a link on their site but it’s already happened to me.
This little, completely undesigned (for now) journal has received it’s first official link back. Ok, ok, it’s from Colin but who cares. Just because we work together and chat all the time doesn’t mean that I can’t be excited about him putting a link to my journal does it? Heeeeeells no it doesn’t.
Live Design
On another note, you may be glad to know that I’m actually working on a design for this site. I’m as sick of Kubrick as you are and would rather force people to look at it. This design that I’m working on will be a live design. So, don’t be surprised if each time you visit the site, if you visit it at all, something is different or moved around. The design will keep changing until I’m happy with it.
I’m no pioneer in this area so I’ll have none of the “that’s been done already†comments about me making this a live design process. There are much more popular people doing the same thing. The difference? Besides their popularity and my obscurity? Nothing.
Also, just for the impatient people out there, I have set no deadline for the completion of this site. It will always be known as a work in progress. My client work is taking up a lot of my time right now and I’d rather pay the bills than have a pretty personal blog at this point.
Back to the drawing board I go.
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiidy Hoooooooooee
September 9th, 2005
After much badgering from Colin Devroe I’ve decided to set myself up with a personal blog. This will basically be a bit of a junkyard for my thoughts.
This particular journal, if you will, is not really for the faint of heart. There will be instances were I may not be very politcally correct. There will also be times that I may seem down right rude or mean. It is not my intention to be a bastard but on occasion I come across that way.
With all the disclaimers out of the way let’s get on with the show shall we.
